Our Shared Foundation:
The Dream Still Matters
The American Dream has always been a simple yet powerful promise: if you work hard and do right by others, you should have a fair shot at building a better life.
For generations, the Dream meant a steady job, a home you could afford, a family you could support, and — maybe most of all — a future that looked brighter than the past.
Americans are famously optimistic: we grow up dreaming of greatness, and we believe in a better world, a progressing society, and a brighter future for ourselves and our families.
But for many Americans today — especially young people — that promise feels increasingly out of reach.
Costs are rising. Wages are stagnant. The balance is off. And too often, the leaders claiming to speak for this generation are failing to listen, leaving us with more questions than answers.
People want to live in a nation that is affordable — but also one where mobility is possible, where opportunity is fair, where hard work and success are both encouraged and achievable.
Where the Dream is Real.

Eric Jones & The Story of ADI
Eric Jones has lived the American Dream.
He was raised in a working-class family in small-town Maine. His father is a disabled veteran and an immigrant. His mother was a nurse who provided for the family, cared for Eric’s dad, and raised three sons. There were times his family relied on food stamps or disability checks. Lessons of struggle, work ethic, and resilience were hard-earned.
Eric went on to earn a full-ride scholarship and become a first-generation college graduate. Then, he helped grow one of the most successful investment firms of the past decade.
Alongside his firm, he helped build industry-changing businesses in healthcare, finance, and technology. Eric’s trajectory from small-town struggle to successful business builder gave him a front-row seat to the possibilities of the American Dream — and how out of reach it has become for millions.
Frustrated by what he saw as the alienation of young Americans, hard-working families, and business owners, he left his career to start ADI. Eric pulled together bright young minds and national leaders to refocus our message and priorities.
